thinhla
Thunderbird and Firefox got updated to 1.0.6 just after couple of days 1.0.5 release. Shouldn't they test the release of version 1.0.5 in the first place? [moved from Talk-Talk by spinynorman]
Ghil Vertefeuille
it's apparently because of a compatibility problem with some web extension that they released the 1.0.6 so soon o_0
AussieJohn
They do pre-test before releasing, but it is impossible to test for every conceivable possible computer setup. Just be appreciative that they fixed the problem so quickly after it was found. Compare that with Micro$oft way of doing things. ........ First , deny the problem exists, then 3months later include a fix in a service pack (If it is easy to fix), if it is too hard then ignore it and pretend the problem does not exist. Which process would you prefer ???. Remember as well, that the Mozilla group people are doing all this work for free. Cheers. John.
scarecrow
Remember as well, that the Mozilla group people are doing all this work for free. Not really... they DO get paid (via donations and sponsors, or support for side projects), but the final product is free/opensource, and Mozilla.org is a patented non-profit organization. tyme
Software has bugs. Welcome to the computer world. You can't simulate "the real world" in testing scenarios, no matter how much you try. That is, they tested it, and they managed to miss a bug, and then they fixed it. At least they fixed it in a timely manner. If you want to discuss their testing procedures, perhaps you should talk to them, not us. Unless of course you just want to flame bait :P
