thinhla
I want to install one of those bars just for easily access to commonly used links like firefox, mail program and media player, etc..... and remove kicker menu since I am bulding this system for public usage. I use KDE and LE2005 One more concern is that whether one of these bar will hog all resource of the system?
devries
Superkaramba takes some resources but not much. If you've a reasonably fast PC you won't notice it running. As what is the prettiest: it depends. Acoording to kde-look kroller is the highest rated menu bar. arctic
the best looking and functioning osx-like bar is imho kxdocker (also available at kde-look.org).
photoworks
the best looking and functioning osx-like bar is imho kxdocker (also available at kde-look.org). i tried to install kxdocker and run it (tried it on mandriva 2006 and 2007-1) however nothing appears. I thought initially that the application did not launch, but after a while i discovered through the konsole that it is runing, even though there is nothing on the screen). i tried to use ksmoothdock but this application is not as smooth as its name implies. i will try to install kroller to see if it works. :D
