ianalis
Hi! I've just bought a Logitech Quickcam Express, thinking it will just be plug and play as stated in many posts here and in the web. Unfortunately, that was not the case when I plugged it in. When I run lsusb, the output is: Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 003 Device 003: ID 0db0:6970 Micro Star International Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 005: ID 046d:0928 Logitech, Inc. Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Now, the product ID is not listed here and here. The output of harddrake2 for the device is: Identification Vendor: Description: Camera Media class: Connection Bus: USB Bus PCI #: 1 PCI device #: 5 Vendor ID: 1133 Device ID: 2344 Misc Module: unknown I tried loading quickcam and videodev manually but it still did not work. I tried loading spca5xx but apparently its not included in the kernel. I'm using mandriva le2005 Any help would be very much appreciated [marked as solved by arctic]
ianalis
I got it to work! Apparently, the product was really new and the chipset was changed recently. To install it, just follow this thread
