Mandriva Mini - what now? [solved]

Hi guys,

I've installed Mandriva Mini (Mandriva Full didn't boot for some reason.. anyway) and it all worked perfectly. Problem is though, I can't find any software to do anything with. I have some sort of window manager thing, but nothing else. Not even the internet (maybe I do, but I have no idea where to find it).

I've used Knoppix and Mandrake 9 before, but that was the full version with heaps and heaps ... and heaps of applications on there already.

Any ideas?

I would suggest you solve the problem by figureing out why the full version wouldn't boot. Chances are, it was either a bad downlaod or a bad CD. Run and md5 sum on the iso, and if it's good, burn the CD again.

The mini-install is just that, mini. It's really not intended as a desktop os. It's for people who want a minimal os for some sort of router or project machine.

Okay excellent, thanks heaps! I didn't know that about the mini.

I did do a checksum on the full version, and it was okay. I just did another few CDs which fixed the problem. Well done

Uh, with your avatar - fire doesn't really have a shadow does it?

Thanks again,

Mitch
