Recommended Posts

it is asking me if I have write access (I can get to root in console and with su and PW) or enough space.. has lots of space. I am not sure what what to type or where to go to make sure I am at root.

in console i can get there with su but don't know how to get to the file. in the file i can make changes but don't seem to have access since there is much room. help, please.

Or if you can't get a graphical screen for one reason or another, you can type as root

'emacs /path/to/filename', then it will open it as from root. This is for emergencies when you have no X , but need to edit a file.

Emacs is a horrible program, from the perspective of user interface! :furious3:

Anyways in it you can access options such as save or exit with F10
