ianw1974
Can't seem to get sound to work. I installed alsa-1.0.8, I edited the modules.conf to put the right info in place, and then from a Konsole window in KDE, I ran alsaconf. I rebooted, and found that alsa is now loading correctly on bootup, and does so successfully, but I still can't get sound in KDE. It errors all the time. Any ideas, please help! scarecrow
First get sure your user belongs to the "audio" group, and second disable artsd, for better or worse...
ianw1974
Hi scarecrow, That worked! I made them a member of audio, but I also had to unmute the sound which I did first. It was definitely making a member of the group that sorted it! Many thanks!!!
