Description: Choose to be a commander and you will play an in-depth RTS managing the stronghold, or choose to be a warrior and you will play an intense game of first person combat. With the creation of a new gameplay genre, RTSS (Real Time Strategy Shooter), Savage expertly redefines the first-person shooter and real-time strategy genres by combining elements of both into one cohesive experience. As the commander in RTS mode, you will tackle resource management, develop a robust tech tree, plan your assault and lead real human players into battle. As a warrior in action mode, you will master many unique weapons, powerful units, and siege vehicles to fight a fast paced battle.

Set in a unique fantasy world eons from now where Humans and Beasts battle violently for their very existence. Choose to fight on the side of Humanity, armed with science and technology, or take the side of the Beast Horde, masters of nature and magic. Each race has its own style of battle, its own leader, and its own way to victory. Which side are you on? (Taken from The Adrenaline Vault).

Notes: Can be a bit difficult to install, but if you know the basic stuff in Linux, it shouldn't be a problem. Also the lack of Single Player can make it difficult to enter a multiplayer game.

If Savage complaining (which is does on my ubuntu linux) about libtiff.so.3 and you have libtiff.so.4 installed make a symlinks. ln -s /usr/lib/libtiff.so.4 /usr/lib/libtiff.so.3

UFO: Alien Invasion

Category: Strategy

Homepage: UFO: Alien Invasion

License: GPL

Latest Version: UFO: Alien Invasion Christmas Special

Screenshots: Screenshot 1 # Screenshot 2 # Screenshot 3 # Screenshot 4 # Screenshot 5 # Screenshot 6 # Screenshot 7 # Screenshot 8.

Platform: Linux # Windows.

Hardware Requirement: 3D Acceleration graphic card.

Additional System Requirements: OpenGL.

Singleplayer: Yes.

Multiplayer: Yes.

Demo: Freeware.

Description: UFO: ALIEN INVASION is a strategy game featuring tactical combat against hostile alien forces which are about to infiltrate earth at this very moment. You are in command of a small special unit which has been founded to face the alien strike force. To be successful on the long run, you will also have to have a research team study the aliens and their technologies in order to learn as much as possible about their technology, their goals and the aliens themselves. 'UFO: Alien Invasion' is heavily inspired by the 'X-COM' series by Mythos and Microprose. The first game of the series, 'UFO DEFENSE', became a classic and, in our honest opinion, is one of the best games ever made. 'UFO: Alien Invasion' is neither a sequel nor a remake of 'UFO DEFENSE'.

Notes: It's heavly under development.
