Guest MoMule
I installed Mandrake 10.1's firewall as standard security level using the ftp install while testing some other installations (afraid of higher level interfering with other applications running properly). Decided to msec to "higher" security. All appears well except my /var/log/messages and /var/log/syslog and such are not rotating. I just checked the /etc/security/msec/security.conf file and saw that Mail something or other didn't have my email address. I added my email address that I wanted my log file messages to be emailed to (ports listening, files changed, etc...) Any ideas on what I need to do to get this awesome 10.1 firewall beast in gear to rotate the logs daily and to send out an email of changes/security notifications and such to a designated email address? One more thing... How do I get the system to print out messages to the tty12 screen? Thanks MoMule
adamw
Output to console 12 is an option in draksec, I think. As for log rotation, check the configuration file, /etc/logrotate.conf or something?
