SurfahBoy808
I've just upgraded from Mandrake 10.1 powerpack to Mandriva 2005 LE. I was using VMWare 4.5.1-7568 with no problems. Since I've upgraded, I haven't been able to use VMWare due to the newer gcc version. When I tried to run "vmware-config.pl" I get the following. Building the vmmon module. Using 2.6.x kernel build system. make: Entering directory `/root/tmp/vmware-config5/vmmon-only' make -C /lib/modules/2.6.11-6mdksmp/build/include/.. Guest chapelled
I have exactly the same problem with VMWare 4.5.2 (and LE2005). Did you (or anyone else) solve it?
scarecrow
You either need the vmware "any-any" patch for kernels 2.6.10.X and higher, or Vmware 5.
SurfahBoy808
Downloaded VMware 5 demo and it works no problem. They have also fixed the annoying "vmware-config.pl" script error at startup in version 5. Now to find a full version working key :D
solarian
If anyone needs the any-any patch for the latest kernel, ask, I can email it. With it my VMware configs just fine. Edited May 21, 2005 by solarian
