i'm new to mandrake, i'm trying to get a graphical interface to work. When i try startdke, starticewm or startgnome it says it needs the $DISPLAY set and can't connect to X. when I try to startx it says error parsing the config file, and that a fatal error occured: no screens found. help would be great.

right... so i looked around on the web some more, i logged on as root and changed my graphical settings, the did a reboot and it seemed to work. For everyone else this seems to have worked for them too.
