Guest vistac
Greeting, I have a simple Web ERP, I have tried it on windows platform, but I want clients use Linux XWindow+Firefox, because it cheaper them MS Solution and XWindwo is more beautiful the MS Window. Seems Mandrake is a good solution. I want to install Mandrake on VMWare to test my project, and I tried it 2 days, always got same error message " There was an error installation packages .........", and install failed. 1. FTP Installation: I tried to install 10.0 official, 10.1 official, 10.1 community from many site(list in the installation process), and selected default packages, didn't change any thing. failed. I got same error message. 2.Download ISO, load ISO to VMWare. I downloaded 10.0 official, 10.1 community, 10.1 official, same problem, same error message. 3.Burned ISO to CD, then install them. still failed, same error message. then I unmakrk all graphic(XWindow) packages, use FTP Installation, ISO image Installing, CD Installation, still failed, same error message. I have already check the downloaded ISO MD5 checksum, it correct, and whatever I install through CD or FTP, I got same error message Could someone tell me what's the problem? or tell me the correct site to down ISO/FTP installation? Thanks. [moved from Installing Mandrake by spinynorman - welcome aboard :)]
Naim89
You could try using Qemu, which is a good, free (unlike VMWare), OS emulator. http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/ If all else fails, Windows and Linux can run alongside each other in a dual-boot configuration :) Edited April 3, 2005 by Naim89
