A quick question from a linux neophyte. My Mandrake 10.1 installation has really crappy web fonts. I can adjust the size on a page to page basis but the fonts are always not proportional or "sharp" when first go to most web pages. In contrast, I have found the fonts in FC 3 to be clear and automatically proportionalize from page to page. What can I do because I much prefer mandrake to FC.

Thanx

Install more fonts (they are in plf. Read the faqs for urpmi). It's likely the fonts the webpage uses are not available on your install so it replaces them with others (that don't look so good).

Font tip: use ani-aliasing and if you have a TFT screen sub-pixel hinting.

Thanx to everyone for their responses.

I tweaked a number of things but the biggest change came when I installed both webfont packages.

Thanx again.
