Really havent a clue why its not working or even about linux in general.

Device was woking before upgrade with whatever defaults mandrake 10.1 gave it (With just enough 3d hardware acc to run UT2004), now not supporting hardware (or 3d) acc.

Not even Tux racer will work:/

Guest froinlavin

I would check your xorg0.log file in the /var/log and see if the fglrx module is failing.

First, you must have your kernel-source installed, but what I have found is that if you install the kernel-source by typing:

urpmi kernel-source

That it installs the wrong kernel-source version. This was the case with me, and I was pulling my hair out.

You can find the version number of the kernel you are running by typing:

uname -a

In a terminal window. Make sure that this version matches the version of the kernel source files that can be found in /usr/src. Also make sure that the folder that the kernel source is installed in (usually the version number of the kernel) is symlinked as linux in /usr/src.

I found that while i was running kernel 2.6.8.1-12mdk that sources were installed for 2.4. Unintalling kernel-souce, and then picking the correct kernel-souce version in rpmdrake and then uninstalling fglrx and reinstalling it again so that it would add in the appropritate modules for the kernel did the trick.
