Guest bohalloran
How do prevent pppoe overwriting my own /etc/resolv.conf entries everytime my adsl connection starts up? There seems to be a symbolic link created everytime my ppoe starts up and overwrites my nameservers entries with those of my ISP (which are sporadically slow and therefore I don't want to use them). [root@barry-lx etc]# ls -l /etc/resolv.conf lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 Feb 22 20:45 /etc/resolv.conf -> /etc/ppp/resolv.conf [root@barry-lx etc]# ls -l /etc/ppp/resolv.conf lrwxrwxrwx 1 root daemon 29 Jan 20 20:04 /etc/ppp/resolv.conf -> ../../var/run/ppp/resolv.conf [root@barry-lx etc]# Edited February 23, 2005 by bohalloran
Guest bohalloran
OK, I figured it out. In /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf I changed DNSTYPE=SERVER to DNSTYPE=NOCHANGE Thanks Barry
