Guest teddy_kgb
Ok first of all tell us what distro you are running, what kind of iPod it is ( mini, regular ), What version the iPod is ( do so my looking around in the iPod menu ) and third of all your current steps. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm running mandrake 2005 special edition, I have a 20gig regular ipod. version 3.0.2 I looked at the rpm files (rpm is gtkpod-0.88.2-1mdk.i586.rpm) and found that it listed files under usr/share/gtkpod/pixmaps/gtkpod-icon-48.png to be installed for example. But when I login as su i cant find the gtkpod directory its supposed to create. First i did the install via software installer and it said that it completed the install. I couldnt find the program in the menu and when I tried to run it from the cmd line (gtkpod) it said command not found Then i tried to install it at the command line, I extracted the files and then ran ./configure and got this error configure: error: *** id3tag >= 0.15 lib not found (0.14 will not work!) Hmm , oh ya if i plug the ipod in via usb, mandrake recognises the device. But gtkpod doesnt start. Thanks for your reply .

Jet2k5
Ok it seems like there is something faulty with the packages. Try switching your servers and installing gtkpod again.
