imwithstupid
Some KDE programs create these backup files that end in a "~". I'd like to change the configuration so that it makes these files begin with a "." so they are hidden. Where do i do that?
Steve Scrimpshire
In kate, it is Settings -> Configure Kate -> Editor -> Open/Save -> Backup on Save In kwrite, it is Settings -> Configure editor -> Open/Save -> Backup on Save Don't think it's possible with gedit or vim/gvim
Guest Adriano
I just checked. It's not doable from inside gedit. In bluefish you can select an ending character for backup files, but not a starting character (a suffix, but not a prefix). Maybe in gconf-editor... No. The option is there (apps / gedit-2 / preferences / editor / save ) but it only allows you to choose a suffix, as bluefish.
