Getting webcam working

I'm trying to get my Creative webcam (PD1001) working in Mandrake. It seems that it is detected and it is using an OmniVision driver. Everything seems fine but when I run the applications Gnomemeeting and camstream it just acts like I don't have anything installed at all. I don't get any error, it just doesn't detect any connected devices.

This is the output of lsusb:

% lsusb
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 05a9:0518 OmniVision Technologies, Inc. OV518 WebCam
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 045e:0039 Microsoft Corp. IntelliMouse Optical
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

Any suggestions?

Mine is working perfectly. You should have video for linux (v4l) enabled into the kernel and the module videodev duly loaded.

Anyway, considering that mine is a creative nx-pro and I had to install a driver to make it work, you should better go to this page, maybe it helps you.

Good luck.
