polemicz Posted January 4, 2005 Report Share Posted January 4, 2005 I decided to install iscan for my epson 1660 photo scanner (version 1.13) because of better slide scanning. It installed with no problem from the rpm on the epkowa site, but when I went to run iscan I got the error message "could not send command to scanner". In order to get the scanner working with iscan I needed to change the /etc/sane.d/epkowa.conf file. The entry usb /dev/usb/scanner0 has to be replaced with just usb.
