devries
Run it: soundwrapper ut2004 (and/or you could try, if you have kde: artsdsp ut2004)
Guest smudge
Thanks for your reply. I tried both (as I do use KDE), got the flash screen a bit longer and still didn't work. I tried from console so I could note the errors and got: $ artsdsp ut2004 WARNING: ALC_EXT_capture is subject to change! Signal: SIGSEGV [segmentation fault] Aborting. $ soundwrapper ut2004 WARNING: ALC_EXT_capture is subject to change! Signal: SIGSEGV [segmentation fault] Aborting. The same errors as before.. any ideas?
papaschtroumpf
It's kindof a long shot: There is a known problem in the original release that causes a similar problem. The CacheRecords.ucl file would get corrupted. You might be able to google around for CacheRecords.ucl to get a clean copy. You could also reinstall and apply the patches before you run even once. EDIT: before you anything drastic, look at .ut2004/System/ut2004.log it may contain more detailed info about what caused the crash.
