jameswong
I have a Sis 315 graphic card on an AMD 1800 with one Mitsubishi LCD 18 in. This setup is OK with Mandrake 9.0. I recently do a fresh install of 10.1 OE and I noticed the following problems. By the way I have downloaded the latest driver from winischhofer but this does not seems to help. 1. I cannot directly boot to KDE login screen. This will result in a blank screen. 2. I can login using safemode then init 3. If I start "X" it will result in a blank screen. If I type "KDE" then it will bring in to the graphic interface. However if I try to logout it will result in a blank screen. Blank screen means completely black. 3. For all instances that I see a blank screen, seems the machine has been lock and I have to use Ctrl-Alt_del to boot up the machine. When I checked the Xorg.0.log there are no error lines. Sis 315 and the monitor seems to be correctly detected. devries
Try running XFdrake and change some options (if all fail use driver: vesa)
