Bizk
hi, i am bored with the theme i have used, since i installed mdk on my box. therefore, i will be thankful, if you give me links to websites, where i can see and download cool themes for my mdk. in addition, i don't know exactly how i install them, thus, i will be happy for some tutorials. notice to the fact that i searched for themes through google but i only found gnome-look as a good match. i also ran a search for how to install theme but didn't get good results. bvc
At the bootom of the first post are a few links http://mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=19748 gnome forum http://gnomesupport.org/forums/ Install Menu>Configuration>Gnome>Themes>click the Install button IF that doesn't work, and it sometimes doesn't, gtk and metacity themes go in you home directory's .themes and icons go in .icons. commandline example if the gtk theme is in your home directory cd ~/.themes tar -xzf /home/username/name_of_tarball.tar.gz same with icons except cd ~/.icons If it's a .tar.bz2 cd ~/.themes tar -xjf /home/username/name_of_tarball.tar.gz
Bizk
well, before i do anything. i would like to know what do gtk, gdm and metacity mean. in addition, how can i know if i have these things installed on my mdk os. by the way, it was my bad that i didn't pay enough attention to these forum pined topics. however, i will assure you that next time it won't happen. Guest Adriano
Oh, and it's easy to know if you have them installed (except gdm): if you have gnome installed, they are installed. GDM you can check in rpmdrake, of course.
