AussieJohn
Hello BVC. This is just a question. When I do an Install, during the last setting up part before it reboots, I untick harddrake in the startup settings. The next first thing I do is head to MCCstraight after logging in for the first time, then System then Services and I remove the check on harddrake if it is still there for some reason and then click stop. I have never had a problem with MCC as far as I can remember but I would not under any circumstances suggest that that was the reason I have never had trouble. Does this isolate harddrake from having any further effect on the system or is it really better to uninstall it totally as you do ????. I realise of course that this man cannot get into MCC without it freezing so this question is only indirectly connected to the subject. Hope you don't mind. Cheers. John. adamw
john - all that does is stop the harddrake service from running during boot. The harddrake boot service is what checks your system to see if anything new has been installed. Stopping the boot service from running wouldn't stop harddrake from scanning your system when run as part of MCC.
Guest illegal_op
Have you tried unplugging all of your USB devices and rebooting to see what happens? this worked for me, but if I plug anything into the usb ports it stops working again,. the wierdest thing is that it worked fine under 10 :-/
