Guest recover
what does it take to get the 9800XT to work in Linux with full 3d Support? I have read aLOT of tutorials and tips on how to get the two playing nice with one another and it's driving me up the freakin' wall. asus a7v333 motherboard amd athlon xp 1700+ ati radeon 9800XT I cannot get the provided ATI drivers to install. . It would be nice to get the gui working with out the display being all distorted first, then try to get 3d support but it's not looking like it will happen. any information that works will be greatly appreciated. but if i go through those lousy tutorials that haven't worked in my case one more time, i'm gonna start pulling out my hair. It worked for a few people here.http://mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtop...ndpost&p=151664 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hey, i appreciate the post. it's really late here 4:20 in the AM so i'll work on it tomorrow or friday. i did do a clean install of mandrake 10.1 earlier and i must say it's pretty sleek.. even compared to 10.0 i'll try to get them working this weekend though for sure. it mentions on that article to remove the drivers . . .what is the best and "proper" way to do that. I don't want to just keep overwriting old installs. I want to keep this install clean and working if possible. thanks again, -cody.
