laudire
Hi all! I made a booboo this afternoon trying to mount some folders from XP sitting on a networked machine into my Xandros 2.0 as I had done successfully about a month or two ago ( this is a reinstall). I managed to mount "My Documents", "My Pictures" and a few more folders when the system appeared to have crashed. I rebooted and tried to go into Home but I got a message similar to this: "The application Xandros File Manager (XandrosFileManager) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)." No problem, I thought, I'll go directly into File Manager. I got a similar message. Ok!Then, I'll switch user to root. Did so and got something similar: "The application unknown (kxfm=client) crashed and caused the signal (SIGSEGV)." I clicked on the Backtrace button and got the following message following a long list of this message: "(no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)..." Here it is: "0x41266a56 in waitpid () from /lib/libpthread.so.0 #0 0x41266a56 in waitpid () from /lib/libpthread.so.0 #1 0x4088c97c in KCrash::defaultCrashHandler(int) () from /usr/lib/libkdecore.so.4 #2 0x41265685 in __pthread_sighandler () from /lib/libpthread.so.0 #3 0x4149e5f8 in __libc_sigaction () from /lib/libc.so.6 #4 0x400e2178 in CFileSystemItem::GuessDriveType() () from /usr/lib/libmwn.so.3 #5 0x400e26de in GetFileSystemList(CFileSystemArray*) () from /usr/lib/libmwn.so.3 #6 0x416ce525 in CHomeItem::CHomeItem(CListViewItem*, CListViewItem*, CSMBFileInfo*) () from /usr/lib/XandrosFileManager.so.0 #7 0x4172eb8d in CViewManager::CreateViews() () from /usr/lib/XandrosFileManager.so.0 #8 0x41744bd3 in CViewManager::enableDefaultSettings(CView*) () from /usr/lib/XandrosFileManager.so.0 #9 0x416db47d in CMainFrame::CreateViews(QValueList<int>, Qt::Orientation) () from /usr/lib/XandrosFileManager.so.0 #10 0x416d584e in CMainFrame::CMainFrame(KApplication*, bool) () from /usr/lib/XandrosFileManager.so.0 #11 0x416d3475 in main () from /usr/lib/XandrosFileManager.so.0 #12 0x0804c881 in strcpy () #13 0x0804dbbb in strcpy () #14 0x0804e024 in strcpy () #15 0x0804ee4d in strcpy () #16 0x4148ae3e in __libc_start_main () from /lib/libc.so.6" Could somebody please have a look at it and make some suggestions so I can manage my files again. As you might be able to see I downloaded Firefox 1.0 and I can still use it. I tried a Solitaire game to see if it would work and it did. It seems that I can do thing but manage my files. This morning I went into the Event Viewer and here is what I get when I click on the HOME icon on the desktop, or on the FILE MANAGER icon that I added to the Quick Launch: Facility; Kernel Priority; Error Source; kernel Message; smb_errno: class ERRDOS, code 21 from command 0X80 Does that ring a bell? I have just read about 300 entries in a Google search for SIGSEGV , very few are related to "pthread". I did a search for "smb_errno: class ERRDOS, code 21 from command 0X80" and got about 200 lines of code. I am just one tiny notch beyond being a noob (newbee) as far as Linux is involved so try being not too academical, please. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
