demonicomelette
Hi all! Brand new Linux user here. Not by choice, but I accidentally deleted Windows and can't find my install disk. Needed a new hobby, anyway, and so I'm going to give Linux a try... But anyway, I keep finding references to urpmi, but apparently i don't have it on my computer. I've tried using it from the command line, tried the whole "help urpmi" thing, and it says "bash: urpmi: command not found". Do I have to install it? BTW, I'm using Mandrake 10.0, with the KDE thingy for my pretty desktop. Thanks in advance! -demonic [moved from Everything Linux by spinynorman]
Urza9814
yea, you have to set it up first. Google 'easy urpmi'...you'll find a page that will give you everything you need

pmpatrick
There is a graphical front end for urpmi in menu>System>Configuration>Configure your computer. When you select this entry in the start menu, a window will pop up and ask for your root password. Then mandrake control center(mcc) will come up. In mcc go to Software Management.
