Earny
I installed mandrake 10.1. However, when I turn on my printer, it starts printing a lot of pages of unknow technical computer rubbis. When I turn the printer off, off course it stops But when I turn it on again. it continues printing these things. I can't find any other way to stop it. I am not able to print my files now. Any idea how this can be fixed? I use a hp deskjet 9300 printer thanks in advance
Gowator
Its probably not set up with the right driver... I don't use the drakprinter thing but set mine up through the KDE printer wiz... on here it starts a service called CUPS (commun unix printer service) and this spools the jobs. Until the job completes it is just resendig it and it doesnt realise its gobbledygook... the best way is usually delete the printer and hence its spool queue and reinstall ..paying particualr attention to making sure you have the right driver. Earny
It worked, Thanks. I just deleted the standard printer in harddrake. In KDE it remained the standard printer and I can use it without problems now
solarian
remember that you can cancel your printer queue by using KJobViewer it's a KDE utility, very handy at times http://printing.kde.org/
