Help with PDF

Hi

Just wondering if there are any programs out there that are good for PDF publishing. I have some lecture notes that are in PDF format and I want to edit them. Kghostview is no good for this, neither is Xpdf. I have tried to open them in open office but nothing happens after I select the filter.

Thanks in advance

Josh

If you don't have the original source (eg LaTeX or Word doc), your best bet is to use Adobe Acrobat (not Acrobat Reader). A simplest alternative would be to print the document, correct it, then scan the correction back to PDF. Many scanners can produce a decent PDF, some even do text/image recognition thus reducing the size of the document.
