Hi,

I can't load ivtv modules using MDK 10.1.

I would like to add the following config (to use a WinTV PVR350 with Microtune tuner)

alias char-major-81 videodev

alias char-major-81-0 ivtv

options ivtv tda9887=0

post-install ivtv ivtv_init

in /etc/modules.conf.

When MDK 10.1 boots, it doesnt load this file. It's rather the same with /etc/modprobe.preload, /etc/modprobe.conf, /etc/modules and /etc/modprobe.devfs. If I manually do a modprobe it will work. A script under /etc/rc.d/rc.local could be a hugly but working hack, but I'm sure there's something better to do.

My last attempt : a "generate-modprobe.conf" that worked very well...in fact, /etc/modprobe.conf is still the same after the reboot.

Any idea ?

Thanks a lot...

Jp

Guest ahdiddum
Add 'ivtv' to modprobe.preload and modules and 'options ivtv tda9887=0 (and you probably will need tuner=whatever number your tuner is}' to modprobe.conf.

:thanks::thanks::thanks:

Thanks you devries, you're really the one :D

Nobody on the net but you was able to give me this hint !

Now the module is loaded without a ugly "etc/rc.d/rc.local" hack.

I still can't change channels because of this damn microtune 992 tuner though. But that's another trouble....however many thanks.
