At last, on 10.1 CE *BOTH* my wifi cards (Netgear MA401 11Mbs and Netgear WG511T 54Mbs) work flawlessly on my Sony VAIO PCG-GRV616S.

If anyone is interested the trick has been to cvs checkout the lates madwifi package, plain compile and add to /etc/modconf.preload all its modules. Those are the drivers for WG511T , but they might have

After that, even the 11Mbps card which uses the orinoco_cs card started working :jester:

Can you be more specific?

For example, from where did you get madwifi?

How to add to modconf.preload?

If I need different drivers for a different, card,

can you finish your sentence:

"..., but they might have" ..........

I had gotten my laptop working (Centrino based - Intell 855GME) using the madwifi drivers, all that I had to do was the basics though: './configure', 'make', then 'make install'

Everything went fine, seeing as MDK started using the driver automatically, thanks to the make install.

FuzzyBio, do you mean you got Intel miniPCI card working using madwifi? To be called Centrino, laptop must have one of them installed, 2100 or 2200?
