rescue Posted September 28, 2004 Report Share Posted September 28, 2004 I have a problem installing network on my laptop. I have pcmcia network adapter (realtec). Mandrake finds it, i get my network settings from dhcp server. Installations goes well but cant start network - failes. Where to start, what to do? arctic Posted September 28, 2004 Report Share Posted September 28, 2004 hi :) have you checked if your network adapter is started at system boot? open a console (the black monitor button) and type "su", then enter the root password, then type "ifup eth0". you will see a message if the connection was already established. if not, an ip-number will be assigned. now run "ifconfig eth0". what is the output of that file? also: have you filled all relevant data for your net-access?
