Konqueror navigation problems

Hey all,

Got a bit of a problem with Konqeror. A couple weeks back, I needed to complete an online form. Using Konqeror, I couldn't navigate past page 1 - none of the links would work. Today, I needed to update some details with my ISP - again online, the links wouldn't work. In both cases, Firefox works perfectly.

I've looked in Konqueror settings>Configure> but cannot see anything obvious, other than putting a check alongside Misc:Open directories in seperate windows - and still nothing.

Why won't Konqueror navigate - is it the browser/settings, or could it be down to the config of the online forms? Recall tho, Firefox is able to navigate.

Any suggestions?

MDK 9.2

KDE 3.1.3

Konqueror 3.1.4 (default with MDK/KDE package)

it can be that the sites you want to access do not support konqueror. i do know of several sites that do not work well with non-IE or non firefox browsers. you think i am lying? try to access yahoomail with epiphany e.g. ... everything is screwed up.

blame the website-coders, not kde. :)

Hi arctic,

no no, I believe you, and it is why I asked if it could be the browser/settings OR the config of the online forms etc.

After posting this, I sent an email to my ISP cust' service, who have amazingley got back to me already (I did also mention the problem in in a telephone call and I was advised to clear out the History files!)

Anyway, I know many ISPs aren't that great when it comes to Linux, and often Linux doesn't even get a mention. However, my ISP promotes web hosting too, and on its home page offers hosting on Win' or Linux. In its bit about broadband service, it says "To use [xyz]Broadband you'll need: [blah de blah] Computer, Windows, Linux or Mac" Now I know this is not a revalation in itself, but at least Linux users are acknowldged as existing! My ISP has however now p****d me off, its reply, which is as I quote:

"We have checked with our engineers and they have confirmed that the Control panel only functions correctly in IE. Even a browser such as firefox will have problems viewing the control panel at this time. Apologies for any inconviences this causes." :lol2:

So, back to my initial Q - I just needed to know if perhaps I needed to correct any browser settings, or, as now has been confirmed by your good self, and endorsed by my ISP - that its outta my hands.

Cheers
