a13x
I want to create ome virtual PCs in my LAN s. They need to "look" pretty real: respond to ping, appear in Samba4k (or other network browser) etc. Is this possible ? (using only my PC, of course) If so what program do you recommend me ? Vdubjunkie
I'm not sure what all you need it to do. My idea wouldn't help much if they had to have their own MAC's or anything, but you could do a search for maybe "eth0 +alias" or something like that on google. I think you just make a few extra lines in a /etc/*.conf file to cause the machine to take on many IP's with different names, etc.

fred_the_fish
Do you mean as in fully functioning virtual machines? - if so check out VMware - http://www.vmware.com/
a13x
I have only one PC. I'm part of a LAN. I want to create some 'fake' computers inside the LAN without other hardware. Edited September 28, 2004 by a13x
