apbsa
A friend of mine recently purchased a palm 72, which comes with a USB cable, not a cradle. He can't get it to sync and neither can I. We tried with the gnome-pilot-applet and using JPilot, as /dev/pilot and /dev/pilot/various other things. I have searched for advice with Google and here, but can't find anything that will get it to work. Is there a way that it can be made to work with GPilot and sync with Evolution? I'd prefer not to have to rebuild the kernel or write an essay in a text editor to get it working. Surely it can't be that hard? (seems like it though) [moved from Hardware by spinynorman]
spiedra
The cable will either be located on dev/usb/tts/0 or dev/usb/tts/1. To sync with Evolution, you'll need pilot link, gnome pilot, and I believe evolution pilot or something to that affect. Then from w/in Evolution, configure the location of the cable, speed, etc and try a hotsync.
