Hi

I burned the Mandrake 10.0 for i386 and for AMD 64 CD's.

When i try to install the Mandrake i386 or for AMD 64, I an not able to get the installation window, even after perfectly booting from the CD.

This is the sequence of things happening.

1. I put the CD.

2. Boot.

3. It detects the CD and I get the initial screen of "F1 for more options" or "Enter to Install".

4. Once i press "Enter to install".

5. The Vmlinux...bla bla...comes on the screen as if its decomressing linux and doing an install.

6. I even get the small "penguine logo" on left of the screen.

7. after decompressing...it takes me to a screen where it says "Welcome to Mandrake 10.0 " on the Top. The screen is Blank

and on the Bottom it says "Alt-F1 for here"

"Alt-F4 for Kernel" etc.

8. And my Computer stays on this screen forever.

I tried this with i386 and AMD installations. They both dont work.

I do remember I did perfect installation last time. But after that I installed YOPER on my PC. Since Yoper was not detecting my Windows XP partition. SO I tried to Install Mandrake Back again. But it doesnot seems to work.

Now after that I tried installing Yoper Again and it doesnot install either.

Then i tried installing Fedora Core 2.0 and installed. ALso I am able to boot Knoppix Live CD .

My systems is as follows:

AMD 64 3000+

Asus K8V se Delux

SATA 120 GB Seagate hardisk

ATI radeon 9600.

Welcome aboard

you have pressed alt + F1 or alt + F4 , which choises do you have then?

you have checked md5 sums of the cd's or did you installed mandrake with the same cd's before?

Have you changed something in your hardware lately?

Even after i press alt-F1 or alt-f4 it doesnot go any where. And all the CD's are fine. I perfectly installed the Mandrake earlier. I installed Yope after that...and then It kinda screwed it.

Then i installed the Mandrake again from same CD. But all in vain.

I guess the MBR is bad...but I fixed the MBR too from the Windows XP cd..and using repair option and the Doing fixMBR.
