Guest razialx
Ok, I dont know what I was thinking, but instead of using the pipe , i used the '>' to overwrite the binary executable mkdir in the /bin directory. This is on an important file server, I was working on some auto backup scripts , and wasn't thinking. Was I using superuser? yes. Should I have been? No. Now I am in trouble. I can not locate the 10.0 install disk, I can not figure out what I need to download from the FTPs to fix this. I just NEED the mkdir I loaned out our install disks, though I am downloading the ISO again. It has another hour before it finishes. Please Please help! I need a download of the mkdir file, or if you could please let me know where on teh FTP servers i can find it? I have stopped use of the computer because I do not want it to crash for any reason because of my stupidity. Thank you so much razialx@gmail.com or , please AIM me at : GNUTim Thank you

Pzatch
I think I'm going to bookmark this one as a perfect example of why not to run as the root user when you don't have to. Glad you got it fixed though.
