nocturnes
At random intervals our monitor is simply turning itself off. Nothing else changes, it just switches off. Just as suddenly it will turn itself back on again. It can happen any time, including when the system is in full use. Anyone have any ideas on this? arctic
i have several ideas: - it could be that the monitor is dying, especially if it is an older model (older than 4-5 years) - it could be that your home power supply is not at a constant level but drastically changing in some minutes, thus redirecting the power needed by the monitor to the more vital computer to keep it running. this is a supplier problem and you can't do anything about it. - it could be that the power cable is somehow damaged or the plugger for the monitor or the power box. - it could be that your comp doesn't love you anymore. give it some cookies, maybe it accepts your apologies... :P Edited August 28, 2004 by arctic
Sarissi
Two things are likely: 1: Power cable from monitor to Mains and/or 2: Power supply inside Monitor is going flakey. (CRT) 2a: IFF it is a TFT with an External Power Supply, that could be the problem.
