qeldroma
I've tried out now every delivered driver in printerdrake, always the same result: The printer prints only parts of the pages! The first half, 2 third, some times only some stripes..... It's a Laserjet 5SI, connected over TCP. Any ideas?? Doesn't make a good impression that i am the only one with linux AND am the only one who can't print clearly... Greets, qd
coverup
When you setup the printer, does it print the test page correctly?
qeldroma
When you setup the printer, does it print the test page correctly? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. The problem is, that all pages with alittle bit more content than text get wrong. The printer alleges "out of memory" several times when i am trying to print bigger pages. At my opinion, the cups doesn't correctly synchronize with the onboard-memory of the printer....

arctic
uuuh... how much ram does your comp have and how much ram has your printer? are you sure that you are choosing the correct printer-setup in your apps? if you choose "generic printer" than this can be the cause to your problems. look at the printing setup and ALL of the options there. i had a "generic" printer AND my "okipage 4wm" printer in the selection-panel. the generic produced crap, the other one worked fine. ;) Edited August 16, 2004 by arctic
Guest lasermemory
Is it not possible the printer does not actually have enough memory to cope with what you are trying to print? Does it print less complex pages ok? Is it failing only on pages with large graphics/photos? lasermemory
