kenton Posted August 13, 2004 Report Share Posted August 13, 2004 I've done almost a mirror image of this thread. I had a 40GB boot drive (WXP/MDK 10) then I added another 40GB. Formatted it FAT32 under Linux, works great in Linux/Windows, but a "Hard Disc" (it's a hard DISK if anything) icon has popped up on my desktop and I can't get it to go away. It's a direct link to the storage hard drive, but I don't need a link on my desktop. Can anyone help me remove it? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

santner Posted August 13, 2004 Report Share Posted August 13, 2004 You could also put a script in ~/.kde/Autostart/ that removes it from the desktop automatically when you log in(assuming you are using KDE). The name of the icon should be stored in ~/Desktop so you could go: #!/bin/bash rm -f ~/Desktop/name_of_hd_icon :D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
