Guest WannaBeGeek
 I installed from d/l iso twice now (after low level format) but get error: "error installing packages Xfree86-4.3-30mdk.i586" I chose "continue anyway" and instal finished. So what was that? Is it serious? Should I re-download the iso? or is it more likely a bad cd burn? Or, even the greatest mystery of all: Where are installation instructions for 10.0 on the internet? devries
http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/demos/Dem...ake9.0/Install/ It's dated but still usefull. The Xfree package is pretty important. You won't be able start X (the graphics server) without it. I suggest you try an update. Boot into linux and login as root. Type this: urpmi.addmedia --update updates ftp://ftp.lip6.fr/pub/linux/distributions/Mandrakelinux/official/updates/10.0/RPMS with ../base/hdlist.cz <enter> then type: urpmi --auto-select exit from root (type exit), login as normal user and start X (Type startx) Good luck
Pzatch
If the --auto-select option doesn't work you will have to ask the server for the file directly. urpmi Xfree86-4.3-30mdk.i586 That should ask the server for the file and install it.
