Yeah just fix that hard drive. In terms of the video card, the 5700 should do you fine. If you have the dosh lying around though, go for the 5900 so it will last you a bit longer.

 

Everything seems to check out, that CPU could be overclocked easily too ;) , well, thats what I would be thinking when I bought a CPU like that!

Since your board supports DDR-PC3200 I would get 2 sticks of 512 for a total of 1GB, if your going with 512MB than for that board and to take adavantage of the DDR you would want 256MB x2 sticks.

 

Something else to "consider" is too look into PCI-X mobo's and video cards (nvidia). afaik, it's the future. It wouldn't hurt to get a card w/ 256MB of on-board memory for the future too.

 

Damn computers, you buy the crap and it is obsolete in 2 months. :lol2:

 

Look into a SB Live card.

Ok thanks for all the advice this is the new one that I have come up with and I am feeling really confident with this one I tried to take every ones advice and put them to use.

 

Motherboard: MSI KT6V-LSR Up XP3200+10/100Mbs NIC, KT600, FSB400, 8x AGP, S-ATA Raid, & 6 channel sound card

 

CPU: AMD ATHLON XP 3000+ 400MHZ OEM W/O COOLING FAN

 

CPU Fan: Thermaltake A1889-01 Silent Boost / Socket A/370 / AMD Athlon XP up to 3400+ / Ball Bearing / Copper Core / CPU Cooling Fan

 

Hard-Drive: Maxtor 60GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive, Model 6Y060M0, OEM Drive Only

 

RAM: Ultra 512MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz Memory ( note I will in the future buy another stick or RAM )

 

DVD-Rom: SONY Black 16X DVD-ROM Drive, Model DDU1613/B2s, OEM

 

Computer Case: ANTEC Life Style Series Black Case With 380W Power Supply, Model "SONATA"

 

Video Card: Albatron nVIDIA GeForce FX5700 Video Card, 256MB DDR, 128-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "FX5700Q" -RETAIL

 

All this for $ 662.00 US Dollar I'm guessing it should round off around 700 with shipping and all. Thanks
