ltmodem-8.31a5.tar.gz request

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Does anyone have ltmodem-8.31a5.tar.gz? I need this file instead of ltmodem-kv_2.4.22_1.2197.nptl-8.31a5-1.i686.rpm.

When installing this rpm I receive a dependency error. I've found 2 links to the tarball but they are either not found or redirect to heby.de/ltmodem.

According to the instructions here I need the tarball.

FC2/ 2.6.5-1.358

Thanks :juggle:

Where is urpmi located? It isn't on any of my 4 discs, can't find it with find and which. root/install.log shows no urpmi installation. Urpmi isn't a KDE installation is it?

Urpmi seems to be a Mandrake command, not FC2. Is there an equivalent in Fedora?

Hello again,

I've upgraded to kernel 2.6.6-1.427 awhile ago and the sources just a few minutes ago. I've used ltmodem-8.31a7 but wvdial never detected the modem so I used ltmodem-2.6-alk-4.tar.bz2 and that's where I am now. I think this just might work.

Well, I'm definitely making progress, however, I am now more confused than I was before. Wvdial found a modem on ttyS12, symlinked to ttyLT0.

When I dialin with kermit it connects...

Trying: #######...

Device: /dev/ttyS12, modem: generic, speed: 115200

Dial timeout: 70 seconds

To cancel: type your interrupt character (normally Ctrl-C).

Call complete: "CONNECT 28800 V42bis".

Connecting to /dev/ttyS12, speed 115200

Escape character: Ctrl-\ (ASCII 28, FS): enabled

Type the escape character followed by C to get back,

or followed by ? to see other options.

I know for sure I'm connected but I can't access google, etc.

Any ideas on this one? :screwy:

Thanks

as root, do:

ln -s /etc/ppp/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf

this should do the trick, IIRC. You need resolv.conf because it holds your name servers. For whatever reason, pppd puts it's info in /etc/ppp/resolv.conf so you have to symlink it to /etc/resolv.conf which is where the system wants it to be. Atleast, that's what I had to do when using wvdial.
