SoulSe
For 100 extra, they throw in Silver club membership. nice. I can't believe how quickly (if you think about it) Mandrake have managed to pull themselves out of shitsville - very impressive. I'm looking at Nexedi as well - looks rad. http://store.mandrakesoft.com/product_info...e602793d992b227 Products like these are going to make the difference for desktop linux. Darkelve
Carrefour!? Holy sh*t! That's only about the biggest warehouse chain in Belgium! For 300 (what: euro? dollars?) I might just as well buy one... omg these machines will fly out of the door :) oh wait, that's only online purchase, I guess... ? Good thing they clearly point out the difference with Windoze as well... after reading the text in French, I have to commend them for a great job done (at least it seems to me the explanatory text comes straight from MandrakeSoft). sitor
When I received the mail with the announcement, I immediately forwarded to all my friends and family. You can never know that someone wants to buy a new (perhaps second) PC. 300 €! Prices can get low without Windows tax! Great for people wanting to install a server at home as well. Ciao, Sitor
Darkelve
Great for people wanting to install a server at home as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was thinking of using it to play around with LFS (Linux From Scratch) :) and indeed things like playing around with Apache, Mambo Open Source, ... . zero0w
Go Mandrake! Go! Mandrake has made some great deals recently so I believe it has a bright outlook. Just don't distract yourself with some non-Linux business like E-learning or other dotCOM (ad)ventures.

roland
Carrefour!? Holy sh*t! Like you said :) Carrefour is just the #2 in the world behind Wall Mart but #1 outside US. Quite promising. But Carrefour is not well known for there online sale. In fact I didn't know they did online sale. Let's see how they advertize the product, but my guess is that for the moment they are just testing something here before perhaps doing it big in the future. What are they testing ? well I don't know. See how busy the hot line is going to be ?

DragonMage
I really wonder if Carrefour Indonesia will release this computer. It seems that they only carry local brands (such as Zyrex) with no OS installed. People will buy that thing and installed pirated software. SwiftDeath
Why install pirated when they can just use the free stuff of linux?
