3lade
How can I create or access zip files. I am using Ark and each time I try it claims I do not have the Zip utility in my PATH. Please install it or contact you system administrator. As I am the only one who knows what Linux is at work, it makes me the system administrator so you can see my problem. Cheers. Add files (select a buncha files) 5. Watch in amazement -- nothing seems to be happening -- that's cuz it so fast! Ark 2.1.9 Kde 3.0.2 so => /opt/kde3/bin/ark
theYinYeti
By default, unzip is installed but zip is not. Is the zip package installed on your machine? Yves.
3lade
Life is so much easier when you know people who KNOW. I checked for installed packages called zip - none. Checked for installable packages called zip - Lots. Installed unzip. zip and what do you know it works. Cheers for your help, same time tomorrow for another simple to solve noobie question. Guest rsd
Possible I included it in packages during install, so I was not even aware that it is not included in default. I always select packages one by one, at least I know what is exactly on the box. :-)
