chris:b
I made a new version of my superkaramba theme: - smaller - different bg-image, better for various dark and light backgrounds - calendar separated - new design: for people who like colours :-) - ready for Mandrake 10.1 (works on MDK 10.1 beta2 ;-), superkaramba 0.34 will be in contrib! - included is a huge superkaramba_howto.txt file, everything I could find about creating your own theme Download: http://home.tiscali.nl/berenstraat/mdktest/kara_anna.tar.gz Extract the kara_anna.tar.gz to your home dir, you'll get a dir: /kara_anna kara_anna.theme cal_anna.theme superkaramba_howto.txt a dir /kara_anna/icons ... with icons and images Start superkaramba, just open the theme(s). Screenies with different backgrounds:

chris:b
All themes for MUB in one tar.gz package now :-) and some minor changes: - kara_mub_all.theme (incl. the calendar in the theme) - kara_mub_transbg.theme (smaller without cal., transparent background) - kara_mub_whitebg.theme (smaller without cal., white-semitransparent background) - kara_mub_small (real small, for all backgrounds) - kara_cal (the calendar) Works on MDK 10.0 and 10.1 - and Suse, Slackware (get the new Slax 4.1.4 Live CD !!!), ... Download: http://www.rainbowlinux.org/mdktest/kara_mub.tar.gz (50 kb, replaces the first kara_mub package ...) For those who still need the superkaramba 0.34 base rpm (only for Mandrake 10.0): http://www.rainbowlinux.org/mdktest/superk...100mdk.i686.rpm For MDK 10.1 beta/RC superkaramba is in contrib! Some notes - Superkaramba works only if you set a background image - clickable areas - when you start the theme, it is not 'docked', so you need to double-click - Right click on the theme on your desktop will give you a superkaramba menu, one menu item is: edit --> edit theme. This will launch your text editor, opens the theme (which is a simple text file), you can change here everything you want. For example: network traffic, default is: eth0 - so if you use eth1 or ppp0, just change it. Or if you use opera or mozilla as your browser, change the click & Go to your webbrowser. Save as: give your own theme a new name. You just created your own theme. The code is really really simple. No python scripts! You can change the fonts, the icons, the text: Mandrake 10.x, ... Included is a superkaramaba_howto.txt where you'll find how to create a theme (without python).
chris:b
but we cant configure it :( are you going to make it user configurable ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure you can. Right click on the theme on your desktop, then edit the theme, it's a simple text file. Save it under <newname>.theme in the same dir If you mean if I am going to implement python scripts to configure it - no, because it's beyond my Linux level
flightcrank
i like the small one the best, how ever i hate the superkaramba colored letters the clash with other wallpapers and also if someones "hostname" is longer than yous it runs over the colored letters and dosnt look that good. other than that its good nice small and simple
chris:b
For you the replacement of the superkaramba letters: Download it and save it as: super_char3.png in the icons directory of the theme. Then edit the theme - change the line: image x=140 y=25 path="icons/super_char2.png" to: image x=140 y=25 path="icons/super_char3.png" To adjust the hostname output - change the font size in this line: # User/host information text x=45 y=20 sensor=program program="echo ${USER}@`hostname`" color=0,0,0 fontsize=10 font="Sans" try fontsize=
