I could be wrong which I usually am, but isn't the CVS for Cedega available for a free download? I know it use to be.

Yes it's available but it's more of a different product than a good indication of Cadega. The CVS version is really not particularly good at all, standard Wine is better at running games than the CVS version of Cadega.

I've tried both CVS and the retail version (yes, I'm a member). The retail version is tons better, because it includes some .dll files (you guys ever read the license agreement?) which can't be given out in cvs, and are pretty central to cedega's abilities.

It it available for free from download - and before SoulSe gets onto his normal freeloader thing - remember that doing it the CVS way not only invloves effort but doesn't include some of the features ;)

Ah c'mon now... I'm not that bad. :cheesy:

*mumble* *mumble* bloody freeloaders *mumble*

Brother tyme is right, as usual; if you want the games to run properly, you need all the juice that comes with the subscriber version.

I understand that it's kind of normal to want to play PC games on a PC but if you just want to play a game to kill the time there are plenty of other options. Many arcade games or console games work perfectly well under Linux. Xmame supports now 5036 games. I'm sure there must something there that will keep you occupied. (I'm playing Scramble now. Anyone remember how to get passed 3th stage?)

isn't allied assault supported by wine ? don't know for flight simulator ... Maybe check out ... flightgear also ... http://www.flightgear.org/ I think there is an rpm for it, but don't know how old.

Wine is the same as cedega EXCEPT that cedega has more support for games, .... I suppose it supports more stuff. Especially more recent I suppose. it supports more directx, ... Cedega is also more userfriendly for installing games ... correct me if I'm wrong :). wine is free ...
