As william stated, there are more than one post about this topic. To help, thought, we need to have more information. What kind of mouse do you have? Explain what is happening (if anything). The more information you give, the easier it is to help.

In this file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, there is a section about your mouse. Mine reads:

 

 

Section "InputDevice"

Identifier "Mouse1"

Driver "mouse"

Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"

Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"

Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"

EndSection
