Hi

I am using Mandrake 10 Official with the language set to english. I am trying to access files on a Windows NT 4 Server with a β (beta) character in its name but I always get cannot stat file or similar error message. The problem does not appear to be samba as I cannot create a file with a β from with in linux.

Does any one have any suggestion on what the problem may be? I under stood linux to be good at unicode but no application i tried seems to be able to create files with unicode characters.

Thanks

Ivan

I have tried a back slash inparticular \3371 for beta which is what the error message contains but that does not help.

Using the tab feature is how I got the \3371 for the beta character. What I am trying to acheive is to read a file with the unicode character in it's name but I cannot even cat the file.
