Echylo
Hi :) I have an adsl usb modem(yea I know its bad), it's an Asus AAM 6000UG modem. Now I have founded a driver, called amedyn, on sourceforge.net AAM 6000UG modem well I have did everything like it says, so first needed the linux-atm, which I could find here: Accesrunner. Now I could install both, I configured via pppoe, and then launched the connection via amedyn, a script called amstart.sh. It finds the modem, but then when it has to sent the firmware it gives me an error: >>> Inits Zyxel 630-11 & Asus AAM6000UG <<< >>> Loading USB controller... >>> Removing amedyn driver... >>> Loading firmware Zyxel 630-11 & Asus AAM6000UG microcode upload program 12/10/2003 Josep Comas <jcomas@gna.es> sundar <sundar@cynaptix.biz> Eduardo Espejo <eespejo@users.sourceforge.net> I found ADSL modem with VendorID = 0b05 & ProductID = 6206 Loading and sending /usr/sbin/Fw-Usb_A.bin... Firmware sent! error: usb_control_msg:error sending control message error: usb_control_msg:error sending control message error: usb_control_msg:error sending control message error: usb_control_msg:error sending control message error usb_control_msg failed after 4 retries... Now I looked for this error and founded the same question, of Josep Comas, the maker of the driver :s : Josep Comas Well now my question, can you help me with this problem, my last hope :) And I'm new to linux btw :)
SoulSe
hmmm.... the firmware seems to have been sent without a problem... so perhaps you could look at replacing the usb cable with an ethernet kit (if there is one available for your modem) and then using straight pppoe to connect. Alternatively, send an email to the author of the driver and tell him you are having the same problem. He might have found a solution or be able to help you more... Echylo
well thanks for an answer, but I already mailed the author, and he doesn't respond, and the ethernet kit is not an option :(
