arctic Posted June 14, 2004 Author Report Share Posted June 14, 2004 Hey! :D I took another, identical ethernet cable and now, I get acess to the modem. Hip hip horray! I looked at the other cable and it is in perfect condition. I don't see anything broken, but who knows, why some cables are accepted and others not... I had this kind of problem already once on another computer (an old P166) while trying to add a new harddisk drive. Okay, I hope that I will get the last stuff running, that is configuring the modem. If I run into trouble, I will be back (not today, but ... well you will see when, if at all). And I want to say thanx once again. I admire your patience and your generous help on this matter.
