Guest mrbiggles
I just installed Gimp 2 (via rpm) and all seemed to go well. Then I tried to start it, and got nothing. I switched to command line, and got this error: gimp-2.0: relocation error: /usr/lib/libgimpwidgets-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_lock I have no idea what this means, how to fix, etc. I am running Mandrake 10. Thanks very much. mrBiggles
scoopy
This was a mandrake rpm ( gimp2_0-2.0.0-2mdk ), right? and you installed libgimp2.0_0-2.0.0-2mdk also, right? How bout gimp2-freetype-0.5-3mdk ?
Guest mrbiggles
Hiya Scoopy: Yes, yes, and libgimp2.0_0-2.0.1-1mdk.i586.rpm (as opposed to libgimp2.0_0-2.0.0-2mdk). Is this a significant enough difference, I wonder? I'll try it tommorrow. Cheers, mrBiggles
Steve Scrimpshire
gtk+2.0 is probably what you are missing.
Qchem
Yep, this sounds like a gtk call. GIMP should actually have pulled in all the deps though - strange. I know some wierd bugs have been fixed in gtk 2.4.2 but I'm not sure that would be needed in this case.
Guest mrbiggles
Howdy: It is definately a GTK call. I decided to try installing from source. I downloaded all the packages, their deps, and their deps, too. Pango requires glib. I installed glib, but pango keeps telling me that it's not there. Without Pango, I can't install GTK+... Very annoying... If anyone has any bright ideas, or even moderate ideas, I'm open to suggestions... Thanks Cheers, mrBiggles
Guest mrbiggles
Well, whatever I did, something worked. After trying to do things the tarball way, I downloaded and installed the correct ligimp (rpm), and all went brilliantly after that. WooHoo! Personally, I think that it is the small difference in version numbers... who'd a thunk it? Thanks for the help, folks Cheers, mrBiggles
